Today is our 9th wedding anniversary...and I have a confession

I’ve never watched our wedding video.

…and I’m a wedding videographer.

Let me explain.

Wedding films - like the ones you see today - just weren’t a big thing back in 2010. Sure, video production companies were filming LOTR feature length weddings but short ‘highlight films’, as they’re commonly called today, have only recently surged in popularity.

To be honest, despite our love of film, we didn’t even consider hiring a videographer. It just wasn’t on our radars back then. Instead, and like many couples on a budget, we entrusted a friend to capture it all for us via a good ol’ camcorder. And with the greatest respect to Sarah, we’ve just never gotten around to watching it. My memory is still recalls that it was the best day of our lives - so what’s the rush?

That’s not to say I don’t have a grand plan…10th anniversary director’s cut maybe? Watch this space!

Would I hire a wedding videographer today?
